A: Not in the ‘normal’ sense because we focus solely on undergraduates. You are not in competition for our opportunities with non-students. Our aim is to help you to enhance your CV with good quality work experience and at the same time get paid for this work. Therefore, you will not be competing with graduates or the general public for these work opportunities.

Q: I have done some temping work before; does talentladder work in a similar way?
A: Yes, it is similar. talentladder manages the work placement on behalf of the company. You will be paid an hourly rate and you will have to fill in weekly time sheets. talentladder deals with all the administration associated with your employment, including paying you. However, you will go through a formal interview process before being selected for a placement. Your initial interview will be with talentladder and then you may have a final interview with the company. The work will be different from that which tends to be of a ‘temping’ nature and you will learn and experience a great deal through the placement.

Q: I know the sector I want to work in, can talentladder help me?
A: We’ll try! We are talking with companies constantly, in response to student registrations. So we may well have opportunities, or be able to source them, within your specific area of interest. If you complete your CV online be sure to fill in the relevant section so that we are aware of the sector/ profession that you are most interested in.

Q: I am a graduate; can talentladder help me?
A: Our main focus is to find vacation and/or placement work for undergraduates, however if you are interested in a 3/6/9/12 month placement with no guaranteed employment at the end, then we can certainly help you. This would allow you to experience various types of work experience and get paid at the same time. Q: Would talentladder pass my details on to a company without my knowledge?
A: We would not give any companies any of your information until we have your permission. Only members of the talentladder team are able to see your CV and the database is protected so that no external party can view or use any of the details held on it.

Q: Does talentladder provide only summer work placements?
A: No, we have a range of opportunities available throughout the year – 3/6/12 month placements, Christmas vacations, Easter vacations, and free time – that is weekends, free afternoons or evenings.
